Our Partnership with Macmillan

Colwick Hall’s second annual charity ball for Macmillan Cancer Support takes place on Friday 28th September 2018 – Martinis for Macmillan

It has been 2 years since Colwick Hall Hotel launched its partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support to help make a difference to the lives of everyone affected by cancer in Nottingham.

The first traditional Victorian afternoon tea sales soon mounted up over the 2016 coffee morning week raising a fantastic £457.30. This gave us the platform to host our very own charity ball in 2017 for Macmillan Cancer Research. Themed as Masquerade for Macmillan, the night was an astounding success raising over £4500 for this great cause. The Lakeside Pavilion was fabulously decorated in the Macmillan colours, with a three course Italian menu for nearly 300 guests. Entertainment included a Michael Buble tribute act, Iain Chambers from Notts TV as host, Venetian Masquerade dancers, inflatables, DJ, surf simulator and bucking bronco, and free photo prints to capture the memory. Hearing personal experience was so emotional and touching and brought home the reality of why everyone in the room had come together for the event. Blue Monday the experts in Charity auctions, offered an array of sporting memorabilia, luxury holidays all in the way of a silent auction and the generosity of the guests who attended positively impacted the final amount raised.

“Without the help of partners like Colwick Hall we simply wouldn’t be able to fund the brand, new Information and Support Centre at The Queens Medical Centre that offers high quality cancer information, emotional support and practical advice to patients, relatives and carers at any stage of the cancer journey and beyond. I can’t thank them and everybody who gave so generously enough!”.
