Temporary lockdown closure, but we will be back in time for Christmas!

Covid-19 update:

Further to the latest UK government guidance, Colwick Hall will be closed for a 4 week period from Thursday 5th November 2020. This includes a closure on our click and collect services. We will reopen on Wednesday 2nd December 2020.

We can’t wait to welcome you back for the festive season, and during this lockdown period, you can still make bookings for our festive lunches and afternoon teas, dinners and overnight stays. Please contact us and leave a message on 0115 950 0566, or book via our website at colwickhallhotel.com

We will surely miss you all over the next 4 weeks, but in the meantime we do also have our online gift shop open so you can carry on your Christmas shopping in style!

Covid-19 procedures:


We continue to take all the necessary safety precautions and follow the government guidance. The safety of our guests and staff is paramount and therefore we have further enhanced health and hygiene procedures in place with rigourous cleaning measures. Our health and hygiene partners, Shield Safety, have worked with us in offering their expertise at this time to ensure we have a Covid safe environment for all. Our Health & Safety partners, Peninsula, have also supported us and this enables every member of staff to complete the necessary Covid training before they return to work. We have also received the well recognised ‘good to go’ industry standard via Visit Britain, and have been accredited by the AA as a ‘covid-19 confident’ venue.

During this time, we have continued to maintain the grounds, refurbish and spring clean all hotel bedrooms and public areas, and become a fully covid-secure venue. Since early June we have conducted socially distanced viewings for prospective wedding clients. In mid June we launched our click and collect afternoon tea service and this is available daily with advance booking. Our bedrooms and function rooms have reopened with meticulous cleaning procedures in place, with pre-check in and card/contactless payments at our reception that is fitted with a screen. A one-way system and social distance markers are highlighted for guest reference. The Lakeside Pavilion is a grand all year round marquee offering more solutions for a variety of event styles with its idyllic setting by the lake.

Our Byrons Brasserie and gardens can be booked for private celebrations and alfresco dining, and in summer we  also opened ‘Colwick Park Hut’ allowing for food and drink to be enjoyed on our grounds overlooking beautiful views of the lake – perfect on your Colwick Park walk. The hut is currently open daily , and our recent implementation of QR codes means that contactless orders can be made and brought straight to your table. We have resumed with normal opening times for our Byron’s Brasserie and hotel bedrooms, please note that pre-booking is essential, and you can call us on 0115 950 0566 or book online. We are open for afternoon tea, lunch, dinner and Sunday lunch. We have also been running our own extended version of the ‘Eat out to help out’ scheme.

The hotel will also offer guests the option of an in room dining experience, with excellent bed, breakfast and evening meal option making it an ideal base to explore the beauty and wealth of attractions in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
