In a more sustainable world, every effort in going green helps towards a brighter future. Recently installed at Colwick Hall Hotel are two fast chargers for electric vehicles.
Situated in the east courtyard this enables hotel guests and visitors to the Hall to be able to charge their cars whilst staying overnight or dining in the Brasserie.
The EV chargers are 22kW and provide a fast charge and therefore ideal for guests attending events and also staying in residence. Easily accessible just by scanning a QR code and paying as you go just to cover electricity costs, this saves on complicated apps and outdated systems.
Installed by local firm, Rock Electrical, David Rock and their entire team have been super helpful, efficient in delivering the brief swiftly and effectively. The software behind the technology is through Volta/Clenergy who offer a seamless approach, cutting through much of the jargon delivering an easy to use product and service from the user lens.
Krishnan, working at Colwick Hall during his holidays whilst studying Criminology at the University of Nottingham, tasked himself with finding solutions in reducing the business’s carbon footprint and was also incredibly successful in obtaining a partial grant towards the EV initiative to future-proof the guest experience. More details of the use of the EV chargers together with a simple guide are posted here.
This investment in the Summer of 2025 attracts greater visitors and clients attending conferences and meetings. As the hotel grows, it is also the ambition to increase the number of chargers and widen green initiatives withing the business.
