What’s baking this Easter?

The crisp air and wonderful aroma of freshly baked tiger bread and chocolate brownies wafts from the kitchens at Colwick Hall.

As Easter dawns, there is more than a spring in our pastry chef’s step. This time it is in preparation of our all new themed afternoon tea experience called Bare Necessities. A hive of activity ensues with chef Jason procuring the best locally sourced ingredients, chefs Sue and Sammie diligently perfecting recipes. With each menu elevating expectations, your experience as the jungle VIP, is as ever the brainchild of our Executive chef Lee Morledge.

Like many families, the Colwick family congregate in the kitchen and yes admittedly we have the baking bug and our expert chefs are going all out with some showstopping cakes and cookies that will hit the spot this Easter. Chef Lee says, “Let the tiger loose”, as a tray of orange and chocolate muffins are due out of the rationale oven. Warm and airy to taste with the piquant hint of orange zest, this is set to bring the tiger out in you.

All through the Easter holidays we welcome couples and families for a special and luxurious break with so much to do in the area.

Lauren and the Byron’s team have also put their mixology prowess to great use by discovering drinks to partner the most exquisite of treats being baked. Starting on 1st April 2019 right through until 30th June 2019, the Bare Necessities Afternoon Tea includes a Jungle Punch made with a blend of jungle fruit sure to satisfy one of your five a day. Also, on the menu is a Balooberry Smoothie Cup or Forest Sip that work superbly as a palette cleanser in between the savoury and sweet selection of your afternoon tea.
