What’s happening at Colwick Hall this Easter 2022?
Easter 2022 is just around the corner! And if you’ve had 40 days of giving up all things gluttonous and saccharine for lent, we don’t blame you for thinking about trading in your Easter egg for something a little more decadent.
Egg-cited for Easter? Here’s what we’re doing to make this Easter eggs-tra (sorry…) special at Colwick Hall!
Why do we celebrate Easter?
Firstly, it’s important to understand the sentiment behind Easter. Many of you may know that this Christian holiday celebrates the resurrection of Christ and, more importantly, the hope of salvation. Whilst Easter continues to hold high religious significance, many of the traditions commonly associated with Easter can be traced back to pagan or even non-religious celebrations.
In fact, some of the traditions that we know and love, such as egg decorating and egg rolling have been around for generations. We know, you’re probably wondering whether eggs are all their cracked out to be. Well, in certain pagan traditions, eggs represent fertility and birth, a sentiment that we still hold today.
Although our Easter traditions may have become a little more elaborate – be it donning our best bonnets, throwing an Easter egg hunt, or baking carrot flavoured treats in honour of the bunny – this time of year remains a celebration of new life and new beginnings.
How to celebrate at Colwick Hall
With a long weekend off, come and celebrate Easter 2022 in Colwick Hall style. We’re no eggs-perts, but surely a sitting of clotted cream and jam, finger sandwiches and cake (served with tea, of course) ought to do the trick, right?
After all, this year is our first Easter in two years with no lockdowns or restrictions. We’ve finally made it out the other side! So, you deserve something a little more fulfilling than a chocolate bunny or an Easter egg.
Treat yourself and your loved ones to an afternoon tea. The mere thought of feasting on a mouth-watering selection of treats, both sweet and savoury, is enough to send anyone to food heaven. But of course, quality time spent with friends and family really makes afternoon tea an experience not to be missed.
And who said you need to leave the house to enjoy the relaxing ritual of afternoon tea? For just £30, you can purchase a gift voucher to click and collect an afternoon tea box for two. Enjoy all your favourite treats – be it creamed smoked salmon & cucumber finger sandwiches or red velvet cupcakes with white vanilla frosting – from the comfort of your own home. Note that vouchers are available between Friday 15th and Monday 18th of April. To avoid disappointment, we advise that you pre-book at least a day in advance.
