Rosie May Day
Friday 26th May we are joining the admirable forces of the Rosie May Foundation. It’s our pleasure to be part of their inspiring work both local and global. Being so close to home I’m sure you’ve heard but you can learn all about on https://www.rosie-may.com/ The ladies popped in to Colwick Hall on a sunny spring afternoon in their bright and brilliant pink Tuk Tuk and quickly impressed us all with their truly inspiring hard work.
Charitable Work
Discovering their achievements was very interesting which reaches right out to Sri Lanka and their girls who have received immense help from female basic necessities, learning the skill to drive a Tuk Tuk to not only earn an income but for women to drive women and keeping families together when siblings have been separated. This support doesn’t stop and have also put together projects like ‘Girls can Surf’ or pushing towards Female Farmers to help single mothers and their children. From starting out as a local charity Rosie May Foundation has grown and currently reached 31 pins on the map with no doubt more to come, we are proud to be one of those.
Charity Cake
Here at Colwick Hall we’re big on our Afternoon Tea and featured many different themes over the years having lots of fun. After hearing that one of Rosie May’s favourite things is cake we naturally had to get involved! No matter how big or small it all supports and that’s exactly what we plan to do. On Friday 26th May we will donate £1 from each Afternoon Tea allowing you to come along and enjoy the experience knowing you’ve helped towards an amazing cause.
Think Pink with Tuk Tuk Rides
Show your support by wearing pink for Rosie May whilst enjoying the beautiful surroundings as you go round the turning circle in their famous Pink Tuk Tuk. They’ll be offering fun rides and members of the Rosie May Foundation will be here to tell you all about where your money goes if you wish to make an donation. Even just coming along for your usual Afternoon Tea with us at no extra cost will be helping this honorable local charity. We hope to see all your supportive smiley self’s there, book your table between 12-4pm here https://colwickhall.touchreservation.net/reservation
A global map for a worthy cause
From a family charity to an international children’s charity, the Rosie May Foundation has chosen to celebrate her 30th Birthday all through the month of May in truly exceptional style and fitting tribute to her living legacy. A world map to pin the wonderful events from story telling a local school in Cotgrave to May Day cake baking in Wisconsin, the charitable cause has a global presence with core values and local initiatives at its heart. We are super proud to be supporting this wonderful local charity.
The vision that the founder of Rosie May Foundation exudes is simply breathtaking and has grown considerably over the last 20 years. Mary Storrie, founder and CEO of the Rosie May Foundation said “We are delighted to introduce our charity being based in Nottingham and would also like to add my personal thanks for your kindness and compassion.”
Selva Muthalagappan, Executive Director at Colwick Hall, “Was hugely inspired by the very worthy cause and the whole team are up for supporting you on your great initiative starting with the Rosie May Day.” Much planning has commenced with a tuk tuk being booked and customised cake baking in progress. Emma Clarkson, fundraising manager, added “Huge thanks and here’s to making May one to remember.”
