Honouring Fathers

Honouring fathers, fatherhood and the paternal bond on Sunday 16th June 2019 is a huge highlight. Few pleasures can beat tucking into a Sunday roast with a pint. In true Colwick Hall style, we’d have to put on a twist, something quirky, to nudge you in our direction.

Sunday lunch in our Byron’s Brasserie and the Grand Ballroom entails a three-course modern British menu, vegetarian and vegan options are also on the menu. Some of the favourites include a cream of leek and cheddar soup for starters, to the roast medium rare sirloin of beef with Yorkshire pudding, or for the lighter palate pan fried seabass set on stir fried vegetables for main. And for dessert, my dad would have always gone for sticky toffee pudding & ice cream (eventhough he was diabetic!).

Beers on tap include Bass, Stella, Peroni and Cidre, together with an extensive range, it will be a day to celebrate with lots of joy and hugs. The Byron’s Beer Garden will be open, and alfresco dining is also available, seats do get booked up fast, so if you wish to reserve a table please do so early by clicking here.

Following the success of Mother’s Day, a day to formally celebrate fathers was introduced by Sonora Smart Dodd in the early 70’s. At that time a barbecue and a tool kit gift set were the trend; food, beer and cars top the Colwick Hall list in 2019.

“Son, brother, father, lover, friend. There is room in the heart for all the affections, as there is room in heaven for all the stars.” – Victor Hugo
