People First

Playing host to clients award ceremonies and recognising people’s contributions within the organisation has been a growth sector in 2024.

Meetings in person have had that social factor. With wellness and wellbeing high on the agenda, there has been a greater demand for venues with capability for large scale functions. Be they awards dinners, conference and meetings, to gala balls, clients and agents are often in search of a central venue with easy access.

On the tick list over and above capacity, in road, rail, and air access: ample car parking is often desired as is good high speed Wi-Fi. A venue with a difference such as a historical backdrop makes for a magical setting.

People’s efforts can often be overlooked. Setting in stone a milestone moment can be both the catalyst to drive forward the organisation’s objectives and a reward in recognising the achievements and successes of the period.

A little over 3 weeks ago, the NUH celebrated their annual awards in the Lakeside Pavilion at Colwick Hall. A grand affair with over 400 people honoured with awards in recognition of their efforts. A three course meal with a glass of prosecco as arrival drink, and Chilean table wine to accompany the dinner. “Our dementia choir” starting the evening with a heart warming rendition of Stand by Me

The fabulous choir members were treated to complimentary tea and coffee in the main Hall in readiness of their spectacular vocal prowess and represented tremendous individuality and the coming together of a team in unison for an incredibly worthy cause. Read all about it from Nottinghamshire Live.

Colwick Hall was proud to host the NUH NHS Awards for the last two years and the organiser “wanted to let you know how well our awards ceremony went and how pleased we were with Colwick as a venue. We received great feedback on the venue, marquee setting, food, & service, so please pass on our thanks to the team, and thank you for all of your help in the run up to the event.”

An event of this scale often involves several partners and much credit is to be given to Quadrant Events who have put together the incredible staging, back projection, screens, and smooth IT interface for the awards.

Here’s a little gallery of shots taken showcasing the event. The full list of winners at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust’s (NUH) People First Recognition Awards was published in Nottinghamshire Live.
