Places to visit around Nottingham

With the summer holidays just around the corner, it’s time to start planning summer days out with the family. Make a day of it and head to places to visit around Nottingham!

With our fabulous city being located in the East Midlands, it’s pretty central to a large proportion of the UK, leaving it easy for commuters to get to via a range of transport services. You and your family can visit the lively city centre with a host of attractions to enjoy. Or, if you prefer scenic and tranquil settings, then the beautiful Nottinghamshire countryside is ideal for relaxed family walks and bike rides.

National Justice Museum

The National Justice Museum is a must-see for your trip to the city centre. The Museum uses original courtrooms, dungeons and prison cells to exhibit crime and punishment collections in a fun and interactive way. History is brought to life with a variety of colourful characters with different stories of justice to tell.

City of Caves

Who doesn’t love to see a real-life cave? The City of Caves is a set of man-made caves dating from 1250 AD that was discovered under the local shopping centre. This is also part of the National Justice Museum which is just a short walk away, so you can have a bite to eat in between activities.
